Summary: Astute’s Power Team is seeking two QA/QC Lead Engineers for a six-month contract at a new Waste to Energy facility in Chester, Cheshire. The role involves leading QA/QC activities for electrical installations, ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards. Candidates will be responsible for developing quality management plans, coordinating inspections, and managing documentation. The position offers a competitive day rate and requires immediate availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead QA/QC activities for the electrical installation works, ensuring compliance with project specifications, ITPs, British Standards, and client quality requirements.
- Develop and implement the Electrical Quality Management Plan (QMP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and associated quality procedures.
- Coordinate inspections and testing for LV/MV/HV systems, switchgear, cabling, earthing, instrumentation, and control systems in line with project milestones.
- Interface with client representatives, third-party inspectors, and internal teams to manage quality audits, NCRs, and close-out of punch lists.
- Monitor and report on the quality performance of subcontractors, ensuring corrective actions are implemented where required.
- Manage QA/QC documentation including red-line markups, test packs, material certificates, and final turnover dossiers.
- Provide guidance and training to site personnel on quality procedures and best practices to maintain high standards.
- Support commissioning teams by verifying quality-related documentation and system readiness for energization and handover.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive actions to eliminate recurring quality issues during construction and commissioning phases.
- Champion a quality-first culture across the project team to ensure delivery of a safe, efficient, and compliant electrical installation.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in QA/QC roles within electrical installation projects.
- Strong knowledge of British Standards and quality management systems.
- Experience in developing and implementing quality management plans and inspection/test plans.

The day rate for the QA/QC Lead Engineers is £450.00 to £480.00 per day outside of IR35.
