Summary: The role of QA/QC Inspector (Welding/NDT/Jacket) involves ensuring quality compliance in fabrication, construction, and installation activities for a major Offshore Oil & Gas Redevelopment Project. This long-term contract position is based in Doha, requiring a commitment of 5 days a week for 8 hours each day. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the Oil & Gas industry and relevant certifications in welding and NDT. The position is critical for maintaining high standards of quality throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the quality requirements of the fabrication, construction and installation activities are implemented in accordance with approved project documents.
  • Ensure that contractors, subcontractors, and vendors have the required competent resources and comply with quality requirements.
  • Monitor all site and fabrication yard welding activities and ensure compliance with approved WPS’s.
  • Attend all PQR’s mechanical testing to ensure implementation of corporate standard requirements.
  • Witness all contractors’ welders qualification tests and evaluate their visual and NDT results.
  • Witness all site or fabrication yard NDT daily activities and evaluate findings.
  • Monitor in-process inspection of offshore steel structure fabrications and verify product conformity.
  • Report daily to QA/QC Engineer on compliance to contract procedures and standards.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum high technical school or equivalent welding/NDT certification from a recognized organization.
  • TWI CSWIP 3.2 or AWS SCWI in welding is a must.
  • ASNT LEVEL II in NDT.
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas Downstream Industry.
  • Experience with international consultancy companies, third-party inspection/certification companies, or EPIC contractors.

We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source for QA/QC Inspector (Welding/NDT/Jacket) to work with major Offshore Oil & Gas Redevelopment Project. This is a long-term contract role working on a residential basis with 5-days per week / 8 hours per day schedule. Please see details below:

Title: QA/QC Inspector (Welding/NDT/Jacket)

Start Date: Negotiable (typically within 1 month notice)

Duration: 3 years (renewable)

Location: Doha Onshore (Office base)
Working Schedule: 5-days per week / 8 hours per day

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the quality requirements of the fabrication, construction and installation activities, as detailed in QE’s main contractor approved QC procedure and plans, are implemented in accordance with QE’s approved project documents.
  • Ensure that contractor, subcontractors and Vendors have the required competent resources, implant internationally acceptable practices and delivery of a product in compliance to QE Corporate and Project Quality requirements.
  • Monitor all site and fabrication yard welding activities and ensure that all welding joints were welded as per QE approved WPS’s.
  • Attend all PQR’s mechanical testing to ensure complete implementation of QE corporate standard requirements.
  • Witness all contactors’ welders qualification tests and evaluate their visual and NDT results.
  • Witness all site or fabrication yard NDT daily activities, carry out interpretation for test results, and evaluate the finding outs.
  • Monitor the stage (in-process) inspection of offshore steel structure fabrications, and top side facilities at contractor fabrication premises and verify the product conformity to QE corporate standard, project specs, and international codes/standard.
  • Report daily to QA/QC Engineer and advise him on the QE’s main contractor compliance to contract procedures and standards and any matters effecting quality.

Qualification:

Minimum high technical school or equivalent welding/NDT certification from a recognize organization such as AWS, TWI, API, ASME, ASNT…etc, TWI CSWIP 3.2 or AWS SCWI in welding is a must, and ASNT LEVEL II in NDT.

Experience required:

Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas Downstream Industry with an international consultancy company, Third Party inspection/certification Company, EPIC contractor or end user in major projects implementation is essential.
