Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of structural steel components to ensure they meet the required specifications, codes, and standards.
- Verify that all welding, cutting, and other fabrication processes conform to the project's requirements.
- Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) such as visual inspections, ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, or radiographic testing.
- Maintain detailed QA/QC documentation for all inspections, tests, and non-conformances.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports regarding the quality status of installation.
- Manage and track non-conformance reports (NCR) and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Liaise with design engineers, project managers, and contractors to resolve quality issues promptly.
- Coordinate with the fabrication and construction teams to monitor and enforce quality standards during steel fabrication and erection.
- Review and approve the welding procedure specifications (WPS), inspection, and test plans (ITP) as per project requirements.
- Ensure that all structural steel materials used are certified and meet project specifications.
- Verify proper storage and handling of steel materials to prevent damage or deterioration.
- Conduct periodic quality audits and inspections to assess the effectiveness of the QA/QC program.
- Assist in reviewing inspection processes and making improvements to maintain high-quality standards.
