Summary: The QA/QC Engineer – MEP Systems will oversee quality assurance and compliance for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations on a significant engineering project in Deeside. This contract role requires the development and implementation of QA/QC procedures, conducting inspections, and ensuring adherence to UK standards. The successful candidate will collaborate with project teams and subcontractors to maintain quality throughout the project lifecycle. A degree in engineering and relevant experience in large-scale construction projects are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor QA/QC procedures for mechanical and electrical systems.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Review and verify MEP shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
- Perform site audits and issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for quality deviations.
- Work with subcontractors to maintain quality standards throughout the project.
- Implement and manage Inspection and Testing Plans (ITP) for MEP installations.
- Maintain and organize QA/QC records, test reports, and approvals.
- Assist in commissioning and handover procedures, ensuring compliance with system functionality.
- Collaborate with project teams to resolve quality-related issues and corrective actions.
- Ensure all work adheres to UK MEP regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
Key Skills:
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or MEP Engineering.
- Proven experience in QA/QC for MEP systems in large-scale construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of quality standards, inspection processes, and testing procedures.
- Familiarity with UK (England & Wales) regulations, codes, and best practices.
- Experience in NCR management, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Ability to review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality documents.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
- Valid UK work permit required.
