Summary: The QA Lead Contractor role focuses on reviewing and enhancing the existing Quality Assurance (QA) strategy and methodologies within the Low Carbon Contracts Company. The successful candidate will identify weaknesses in current practices and provide actionable solutions to improve QA processes, utilizing various technical tools and collaborating with cross-functional teams. This position requires independent leadership of QA initiatives while aligning with Agile methodologies. The role is a 3-month contract outside IR35, based in Canary Wharf, requiring in-office attendance two days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate Current QA Practices: Thoroughly assess existing QA strategies, methodologies, and documentation.
  • Identify Improvements: Highlight weaknesses and gaps in the current QA approach.
  • Recommend Solutions: Provide detailed recommendations and implement solutions to improve QA processes.
  • Utilize Technical Expertise: Leverage tools and technologies such as AWS, Azure, Selenium, Playwright, Python, Docker, Terraform, and GitHub.
  • Work Independently: Lead QA initiatives independently without direct team management.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure QA practices align with Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies.
  • Documentation: Prepare comprehensive reports outlining findings and proposed improvements.
  • Stay Updated: Keep abreast of industry best practices and emerging QA technologies.

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience as a Lead QA Engineer or similar role.
  • Proficiency in AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools like Selenium and Playwright.
  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Knowledge of Docker for containerization.
  • Familiarity with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
  • Experience with version control using GitHub.
  • Solid understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Kanban frameworks.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB Certified Tester) are desirable.

Salary (Rate): 750
