Summary: The QA Ingredients and Product Manager serves as the primary contact for suppliers and customers regarding technical queries and compliance. This role involves managing the flow of raw materials and finished products, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards, and leading teams focused on food safety and quality. The position also includes conducting risk assessments, onboarding new suppliers, and overseeing customer complaint investigations. The manager is responsible for maintaining robust systems and driving improvements in safety processes across multiple production plants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the flow of all raw materials and finished products to meet quality and safety standards.
  • Conduct and update risk assessments covering allergens, microbiological, chemical, physical, and vulnerability aspects.
  • Onboard new suppliers, reviewing manufacturing controls and ensuring necessary documents are accessible and up to date.
  • Lead the HACCP and Food Defence Teams, maintaining robust systems and driving improvements in safety processes.
  • Work with NPD to review and approve new ingredients and specifications for new launches.
  • Responsible for Food Safety, Quality, Legality, and Hygiene across all Bread production plants, managing a team of FSQ Specialists.
  • Oversee customer complaint investigations, reporting, and trending.
  • Manage internal audits, including system, GMP, and GWP audits.
  • Coordinate sampling schemes and laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance and calibration.

Key Skills:

  • Supplier auditing experience in the food industry.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory responsibilities in a FSQ setting.
  • Specification writing experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of HACCP.
  • Risk assessment and management expertise.
  • Working knowledge of BRC and major retailer standards.
  • Experience leading 3rd party audits.
  • HACCP L3 (L4 Desirable).
  • Food Safety L3 (L4 Desirable).

The Opportunity: QA Ingredients and Product Manager - Acting as the first point of contact for both suppliers and customers regarding technical queries and compliance.

What You Will Contribute

  • Manage the flow of all raw materials and finished products, ensuring they meet the rigorous quality and safety standards.
  • Conduct and update risk assessments covering allergens, microbiological, chemical, physical and vulnerability aspects to ensure the integrity of all raw materials and finished products.
  • To onboard new suppliers, reviewing manufacturing controls and ensure all necessary documents are accessible and up to date.
  • Lead the HACCP and Food Defence Teams, ensuring robust systems are maintained and to drive improvements in safety processes.
  • Work with NPD to review and approve new ingredients and specifications for new launches.
  • Responsible for Food Safety, Quality, Legality and Hygiene across all Bread production plants, managing a team of FSQ Specialists across 4 shifts.
  • Oversee the management of customer complaint investigations, reporting and trending.
