Summary: The QA Engineer - Java role based in Sheffield involves developing and executing functional test cases, performing end-to-end testing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure application quality. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute functional test cases to validate application functionality.
- Perform end-to-end testing to ensure system integration and reliability.
- Identify, document, and track defects using appropriate tools.
- Collaborate with developers to resolve issues and ensure quality standards.
- Automate functional test cases using tools like Selenium, JUnit, or TestNG.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
- Perform regression testing using automation to ensure stability of the application.
- Work closely with Product Owners, BAs, and QA teams to ensure alignment on requirements and deliverables.
- Participate in code reviews, testing reviews, and sprint planning sessions.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in Java development and testing practices.
- Contribute to the improvement of development and testing processes.
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java applications.
- Write clean, efficient, and reusable code following best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements.
- Debug and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
- Optimize application performance and scalability.
Key Skills:
- Experience in Java, including frameworks like Spring and Hibernate.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.
- Extensive experience with functional testing tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Good knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- ISTQB or equivalent testing certification.
