Contract QA Engineer Belfast (Hybrid) 6 Month Contract Outside IR35

The Role

We're working with a growing organisation who are bringing in their first QA hire on a contract basis. This is a key role where you'll take ownership of testing across a number of active projects, initially quite hands-on with manual testing, but with a clear opportunity to shape and introduce automation and best practice over time. You'll also play a key role in helping define how QA should look going forward, with the view that this function will grow.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading testing across multiple projects and workstreams
  • Getting hands-on with manual testing initially to build coverage quickly
  • Advising on and implementing QA processes, standards, and frameworks
  • Introducing automation where it adds value (not automation for the sake of it)
  • Working closely with product, engineering, and business teams
  • Helping shape the longer-term QA strategy

Tech / Environment

Mix of no-code / low-code platforms

Tools such as Next Matter, Workato, Power Automate

Broader modern tech environment (flexible depending on experience)
