Summary: We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer on a contract basis to ensure high-quality standards for our digital products through rigorous testing. The role involves creating test cases, performing manual and exploratory testing, and collaborating with development teams to document defects and improve products. This position is based in the UK, specifically in London or Basingstoke, and is outside of IR35 regulations. The contract is initially for three months with a view to extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and create comprehensive test cases to ensure thorough coverage of our products.
  • Perform manual or exploratory testing to identify defects and ensure complete test coverage.
  • Document defects, collaborate with development teams for resolutions, and advocate for continuous product improvement.
  • Validate and scrutinize requirements, identifying potential gaps, edge cases, and ensuring testability of proposed solutions.
  • Work with or leverage your previous experience in Content Management Systems (CMS).
  • Create supporting documentation for projects, such as Test Plans and Test Summary Reports, with support from other team members.
  • Contribute to the planning and prioritization of testing efforts for the project.
  • Provide accurate estimations for testing tasks within a project.
  • Proactively assess risks and suggest ways to mitigate issues.
  • Own and uphold QA processes and best practices across the team.

  • Expert knowledge in quickly understanding digital products, their features, and functionality.
  • Developing and executing test scenarios for web or mobile applications.
  • Analysing and understanding requirements to ensure quality assurance.
  • Diagnosing, reporting, and tracking defects.
  • Maintaining knowledge of core systems and processes.
  • Applying industry-standard testing processes and best practices, with an ISTQB foundation certification.
  • Competency in software testing techniques and test-support tools, as well as incident/defect tracking systems.
  • Experience in mobile app testing software such as Appium.
  • Familiarity with Agile / Waterfall development methodologies.
  • Understanding APIs, with experience using tools such as Charles Proxy and Postman.
  • Experience with UI automated testing tools (e.g., Cypress).
  • Proficiency in tools like JIRA / Confluence.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards for our digital products, through rigorous testing and a deep understanding of functionality and user experience. 3 month contract, view to extend further Outside of IR35 UK based (London/Basingstoke) £250 - £400 per day
