Summary: The QA Automation Tester role is a contract position focused on delivering secure and scalable digital services within a high-impact public sector programme. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative Agile environment, engaging in various testing activities and promoting quality throughout the product lifecycle. Active SC clearance is required, with a preference for NPPV3. The position offers a flexible hybrid working model and the opportunity to work with modern technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define acceptance criteria and testing definitions of done with product teams
- Collaborate with developers to design and review unit/component tests
- Conduct exploratory testing across all levels
- Automate tests and maintain traceability throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Validate non-functional requirements (NFRs)
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies and retrospectives
- Promote quality awareness across the product lifecycle
Key Skills:
- Minimum 5 years as a QA Automation Engineer
- Strong background in BDD, TDD, and Agile (Scrum)
- Proficient in: Java, Cypress, Postman, Docker, GitLab, Jenkins, SonarQube, Splunk, Gatling, Serenity, Cucumber, Selenium, Wiremock, Hamcrest, AWS Cloudwatch, Jira, Confluence
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and scripting (Windows/Linux)
- Solid coding practices (SOLID, DI, Design Patterns)
- Experience with test-first development and test assurance
- Desirable Skills: Experience with PACT for Consumer Driven Contract Testing, Advanced DevOps and Agile development knowledge, Ability to lead projects and design test strategies, Experience with mocks, stubs, and test automation frameworks
