Summary: The Automation Test Lead role at a leading utilities company in Dublin involves leading a team of automation testers to design and execute automated test scripts for billing systems. This is a 6-month contract opportunity ideal for candidates with strong expertise in automation tools and experience in the utilities sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of automation testers, providing mentorship and technical guidance.
  • Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts for billing systems and related utilities applications.
  • Oversee and maintain automated test frameworks to ensure consistent and efficient testing processes.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including developers, business analysts, and project managers to define and refine testing strategies.
  • Conduct hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of automation scripts.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices for test automation and work to continuously improve processes.
  • Report on testing progress, issues, and risks to stakeholders regularly.
  • Support the integration of automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Ensure proper documentation of test cases, test scripts, and results.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience as an Automation Test Lead or Senior Automation Tester, ideally within the utilities sector.
  • Strong expertise in automation tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar frameworks.
  • Previous experience working with billing systems within the utilities or similar regulated industries is essential.
  • Solid understanding of testing methodologies, including functional, regression, and performance testing.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and processes (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities to guide a testing team.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
