Python Software Engineer | £80 - £90
We're working with a leading global investment banking powerhouse on this exciting opportunity. You will join their Equity Linked Technology team to revolutionize front-to-back automation for a multi-billion dollar Structured Notes business. This is a high-impact role for a Python expert with a deep background in Equities Derivatives. You’ll be building highly automated, STP (Straight Through Processing) systems that drive real-time pricing, quoting, and lifecycle management in a fast-paced front-office environment.
The Role
- Design and scale complex Python-based server-side microservices within a cross-language REST n-tier architecture.
- Build cutting-edge tools for pre-trade and post-trade automation, including trade booking, client connectivity, and Treasury workstreams.
- Lead the transition to full STP (Straight Through Processing) to optimize high-volume Structured Product workflows.
- Drive technical excellence through Test Driven Development (TDD), CI/CD pipeline optimization, and mentoring junior developers.
- Collaborate directly with Sales, Trading, and Structuring desks to translate complex business needs into high-performance code.
What You'll Need
- 7+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years focused on Front-Office Equities Derivatives systems.
- Expert-level Python skills with experience building complex, scalable server-side functionality and RESTful services.
- Advanced SQL proficiency (specifically Oracle) and comfortable working within Unix/Linux environments (Shell scripting).
- Strong command of Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Unit/Integration testing, and Pair Programming.
- Bonus points for experience with modern UI technologies like React, HTML5, and Websockets, or specific knowledge of Warrants and Certificates.
