Python Infrastructure Automation Engineer

A leading financial institution is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Specialist to join its Enterprise Computing team within the broader Enterprise Infrastructure division. This role is focused on evaluating, certifying, deploying, and maintaining hardware, virtual, and software-based load balancer technologies used to deliver thousands of applications to internal and external clients. The team is also responsible for integrating load balancer components with centralized configuration management and monitoring systems, driving a number of key initiatives including ultra-low-latency trading systems and infrastructure modernization projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and maintain scalable, high-performance load balancing infrastructure solutions
• Collaborate with solution architects, developers, and operations teams to ensure a stable and well-documented platform
• Develop and enhance automation tools to support self-service infrastructure management (primarily in Python and Perl)
• Consult with internal technology groups on requirements and translate these into robust infrastructure solutions
• Act as an escalation point for complex incidents, coordinating with other technical teams to resolve issues
• Drive performance and reliability improvements through system tuning and configuration best practices

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong experience managing and deploying large-scale web or network infrastructure, ideally including F5 or A10 load balancer appliances
• Proficiency with scripting and automation using Python, Perl, Shell, Ansible, or Terraform
• Deep understanding of Linux/Unix systems, networking (TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL), and system-level troubleshooting
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience in high-availability enterprise environments

Desirable:

• Hands-on knowledge of F5 or A10 APIs and scripting (e.g., iControl, iRules, axAPI, aFlex)
• Familiarity with containerized environments and private cloud platforms
• Understanding of distributed web application architecture and lifecycle
• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Robot Framework
• Knowledge of source control and deployment pipelines as part of modern SDLC processes
