Key Responsibilities:

Our client, a large energy trading organisation are looking for a Back End Python developer, one with a 4 - 6 years experience using Python and associated frameworks to contribute to the build out of a live Front Office business application. As a Python developer you will have the opportunity to design, develop and maintain applications using modern Python, API's including REST and/or GraphQL . Kafta is in use for message queues and Postgres as open-source relational database management system. This post trade platform is based on a AWS build out so experience with AWS cloud services such as S3, ECS and Appsync is required .
The successful candidate will work closely with all system owners and business units and have the opportunity to produce high level technical designs and liaise with relevant group infrastructure, cloud, security and network teams to ensure it fits with architectural patterns and practices. You will use continuous delivery pipelines to release new features and functionality
In order to qualify for this role you will need to demonstrate current use of Python development tools. You will have experience ideally in commodities trading or a similar financially based organisation. Commercial programming experience with React/Typescript is desirable but not essential. Preference will be given to candidates that are well versed with AWS cloud services.
