Job Title: Python Developer
Location: Sheffield
Day Rate: £350-385 Inside IR35
Start Date: September 2026
Duration: 27th November 2026 (initially).
We are currently recruiting for a Python Developer to join a large enterprise technology environment, developing scalable automation solutions to streamline database operations and deployment processes.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining Python-based automation solutions, building APIs for database management operations and supporting applications across containerised environments.
Job Responsibilities/Objectives
- Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions for database operations and rollout activities
- Build and integrate APIs for database management operations and automation workflows
- Troubleshoot and resolve automation issues across Scripting, APIs, and containerised environments
- Containerise and deploy applications and services using Docker and Kubernetes
Required Skills/Experience
- Hands-on experience with API development using Python and FastAPI
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills
- Solid experience with Python development in production environments
- Familiarity with containerisation technologies such as Docker
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Experience enhancing observability using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry
- Knowledge of enterprise tools such as Control-M, TrueSight, Guardium, Tenable Nessus, or Delinea
- Understanding of security practices and software development within highly regulated environments
- End-to-end experience with CI/CD pipelines including build, test, and deployment processes
