Summary: The role of Senior Digital Developer/Senior Software Engineer involves leading the development of scalable software solutions within a large-scale digital transformation programme. The position requires hands-on experience with Python and Django, focusing on delivering high-quality software in complex environments. The candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and drive continuous improvement in engineering practices. This is a hybrid role with a contract duration of 12 months and potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain secure, scalable software applications.
- Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code following test-driven development principles.
- Lead the development and delivery of complex features and services.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to understand business and user requirements.
- Support production systems and contribute to service reliability, resilience, and performance improvements.
- Identify and resolve technical issues, defects, and system faults.
- Review solution designs and ensure appropriate technology choices and integration approaches.
- Coordinate integration activities and support end-to-end testing.
- Embed security considerations throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Drive continuous improvement and contribute to engineering best practices.
