Summary: A high-growth FinTech company is seeking an experienced Python Developer for a 6-month contract, offering a day rate of £400 and classified as outside IR35. The role involves working within a cross-functional engineering team to build scalable services for a financial platform, with a hybrid working arrangement of 2 days in London and 3 days remote. The position requires strong skills in Python and Django, along with experience in developing APIs and microservices. The ideal candidate will have a background in FinTech or similar data-heavy environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain backend services using Python (3.x) with Django.
- Build APIs and microservices in a cloud-native environment.
- Integrate with financial data sources and third-party systems.
- Work with event-driven architectures and asynchronous frameworks.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks.
- Participate in design discussions and code reviews.
Key Skills:
- Strong commercial experience with Python, ideally in FinTech, banking, trading, or data-heavy environments.
- Experience with Django.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Experience with AWS, Docker, and containerised deployments.
- Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, automated testing, and version control (Git).

Role Overview You will work within a cross-functional engineering team building scalable, high-performance services for a cutting-edge financial platform. The role involves developing new features, optimising existing code, and collaborating closely with Data, DevOps, and Product teams.
