Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining Python-based applications and services.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Implementing data processing pipelines using PySpark for efficient data analysis.
  • Integrating with AWS services and utilizing cloud infrastructure for scalable and reliable applications.
  • Conducting code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure code quality and performance.
  • Writing clean, efficient, and reusable code while adhering to coding standards and best practices.
  • Collaborating with the team to continuously improve software development processes and tools.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies in Python development and AWS services.

Key Skills:

  • Extensive experience in Python development, including proficiency in core Python libraries and frameworks.
  • Experience in the Public Sector, ideally with the NHS.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services, particularly in designing and implementing solutions using services like Lambda, S3, EC2, and Redshift.
  • Hands-on experience with PySpark for big data processing and analysis.
  • Familiarity with database technologies, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
  • Solid understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to debug and resolve complex issues.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
