Senior Python Developer Bristol HQ (Hybrid remote) SC Clearance is required Up to £59 p/h outside IR35 We’re looking for a security cleared Senior Python Developer to take ownership of key software work packages, leading on planning, delivery, and reporting while working independently in a fast-paced engineering environment. This role would suit someone with strong experience in Python development, microservice architecture, and building production-grade software that integrates into wider systems. You’ll be involved in design, implementation, testing, troubleshooting, peer reviews, and mentoring junior developers, while working closely with systems, test, and DevOps teams.
Key skills and experience: Security cleared currently Strong Python skills, including Pytest Experience building full stack Flask applications Good knowledge of Git, Docker, and AWS Experience designing, implementing, and testing software components Understanding of secure coding practices and cyber security considerations Experience integrating software into larger platforms and systems Familiarity with Agile delivery methods Desirable experience: CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI and Jenkins Machine learning pipelines Kubernetes, Azure, and cloud/container platforms Automated testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, or NUnit Mentoring junior engineers Awareness of UML or SysML This is a great opportunity for an engineer who can balance hands-on development, technical planning, and clear stakeholder communication while helping drive best practice across the team.
