Python Developer - AI Platform

Role Overview As a Python Developer in the AI Platform team, you will help design and build the next generation of scalable, AI-driven systems used across the business. This includes integrating machine learning models into robust production systems and collaborating closely with architects, data scientists, and engineers. You'll contribute to developing foundational services for recommendation systems, natural language processing, and other advanced AI applications in a high-impact environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core components of the AI architecture platform using Python
• Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to integrate models into scalable production systems
• Contribute to the development of tools and frameworks that support experimentation, model deployment, and performance monitoring
• Ensure solutions follow best practices for performance, reliability, and security
• Participate in architectural discussions and cross-team collaborations to align on design and delivery

Skills & Experience Required

• 5+ years of professional development experience, with a strong focus on Python
• Experience building and maintaining scalable backend systems or distributed platforms
• Proven ability to collaborate with data scientists and translate machine learning models into production-ready code
• Familiarity with end-to-end system design, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks
• Understanding of data security and software development best practices
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Experience working in cloud environments (e.g., AWS or Azure) is a plus

Nice to Have

• Exposure to AI/ML concepts such as recommendation engines, NLP, or knowledge graphs
• Experience with containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of financial services systems or regulatory environments

Location This role is based in Glasgow, within a growing technology hub. The office is centrally located and offers amenities such as an onsite gym and restaurant.
