Summary: The Purchase Ledger Clerk role is focused on improving supplier data integrity through a large-scale clean-up initiative. Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of supplier master clean-up activity - identifying and resolving duplicate accounts, consolidating transactions and restoring structure to the ledger
- Lead on debit balance investigations, prioritising high-value accounts, reconciling to statements and securing missing invoices, credits and supporting evidence
- Validate transactions thoroughly before clearance, ensuring accuracy and control at every stage
- Build and maintain a clear, structured supplier matrix, capturing key data points to support system readiness and stronger future processes
- Protect ledger integrity throughout the cleanse, providing clear progress updates and escalating risks early
- Work confidently with suppliers and partner closely with the BAU AP team to resolve issues and maintain operational continuity
Key Skills:
- Previous experience within Accounts Payable, ideally with exposure to reconciliation or data cleanse projects
- Strong analytical and investigative skills
- Good working knowledge of Excel
- The ability to manage high volumes of work and prioritise effectively
