Summary: The Propulsion Technician role involves maintaining and servicing aircraft systems and components in compliance with RSAF Technical Orders. The position requires hands-on experience in an operational flying environment and includes responsibilities such as component maintenance, tool control, and managing spare parts logistics. The technician will also be involved in training assigned SNTTP trainees and ensuring high standards of housekeeping and safety practices. This position is based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, with a contract duration of 12-18 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining good engineering practices and compliance with RSAF Technical Orders in all aspects of the Avionics work area.
  • Component Maintenance, including inspection, evaluation, installation, repair, troubleshooting, servicing, overhaul, modification, and testing of off-aircraft systems components.
  • On-aircraft installation, repair, servicing, modification, and testing of aircraft systems.
  • Ensuring work is carried out in accordance with the standards and procedures detailed within the MOE.
  • Ensuring strict tool control is carried out in accordance with tool control procedures.
  • Managing spare part requirements using the Gold ESP logistics system.
  • Carrying out TCTO’s and Special inspections when directed.
  • Development of assigned SNTTP trainees.

Key Skills:

  • National civilian/military equivalent and successful completion of a recognised aircraft maintenance apprenticeship OR ONC qualified with military add-on training applicable to trade.
  • At least 5 years within an operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR 3 years on the same aircraft type OR successful completion of BAESSA apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/TSNTTP).
  • Relevant type training (Q Course) and specific training if required.
  • Sound understanding of the RSAF 4-1-7166 series and supporting technical publications applicable to the work area.
  • Ability to verbally communicate to a high standard on technical matters.
  • Setting high standards for good housekeeping practices and ensuring the FOD prevention program is maintained.
  • Sound oral and written two-way communication skills with the ability to be tactful, discreet, and confident in dealing with people at all levels.
  • Ability to work in close harmony in a mixed EE/SN workforce.
  • Understanding of BAESSA engineering operating procedures.
  • HF trained.
  • Current driving license.

Job title: Propulsion Technician

Duration: 12-18 months, 6 months rolling

Location: Dhahran, Saudi Arabia

Start: ASAP (however it may take up to 5 months to be deployed)

£315 per day LTD

48 hours a week – Sunday to Thursday

Overtime may be available at the normal day rate

Rates include shared accommodation and flights to/from the UK (related to job/visa)

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintaining good engineering practices and compliance with RSAF Technical Orders in all aspects of the Avionics work area i.e. on aircraft or component maintenance.
  • Component Maintenance, inspects, surveys, evaluates, installs repairs, maintain, troubleshoots, services, overhauls, modifies and tests off aircraft systems components whilst undergoing OJT to gain levels of certification of own work.
  • On-aircraft, installs, repairs, services, modifies and tests aircraft systems.
  • Ensures work is carried out in accordance with the standards and procedures detailed within the MOE.
  • Ensures strict tool control is carried out in accordance with tool control procedures.
  • Managing spare part requirements using the Gold ESP logistics system.
  • Carry out TCTO’s and Special inspections when directed.
  • Development of assigned SNTTP trainees.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • National civilian / military equivalent and successful completion of a recognised aircraft maintenance apprenticeship OR ONC qualified with military add on training applicable to trade.
  • Have at least 5 years within operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR 3 years on same aircraft type OR successful completion of BAESSA apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/TSNTTP)
  • Relevant type training (Q Course) and specific training if required.
  • Must have a sound understanding of the RSAF 4-1-7166 series and supporting technical publications applicable to his work area.
  • Demonstrate the ability to verbally communicate to a high standard on matters of a technical nature.
  • Setting high standards for good housekeeping practices in the work area and ensuring the FOD prevention program is maintained to the highest standard.
  • Must have and be able to demonstrate sound oral and written two-way communication skills with the ability to be tactful, discreet and confident in dealing with people at all levels.
  • Be able to work in close harmony in a mixed EE/SN workforce.

  • Post holder must be HF trained.
