Summary: This role seeks a Propulsion Engineer with expertise in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and mechanical systems, focused on high-performance propulsion technology. The position involves designing, developing, and testing various propulsion systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Candidates should have a solid foundation in performance analysis and troubleshooting propulsion-related issues. A degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, along with relevant experience, is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and test propulsion systems, including jet engines, rocket engines, thrusters, or hybrid propulsion units
  • Perform performance analysis, CFD simulations, and thermodynamic calculations to evaluate efficiency and reliability
  • Support engine integration into the overall vehicle architecture, working closely with structural, systems, and controls teams
  • Participate in component-level and system-level testing, including static fire or wind tunnel tests
  • Troubleshoot propulsion-related issues during development or operational phases

Key Skills:

  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (Master’s or PhD preferred for advanced roles)
  • 2+ years of experience working with propulsion systems (liquid, solid, air-breathing, or electric)
  • Solid understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, combustion, and materials science
  • Familiarity with design and analysis tools such as MATLAB, ANSYS, CFD packages, or NPSS
  • Experience with electric or hybrid propulsion systems
  • Background in space propulsion (e.g., ion thrusters, Hall-effect thrusters)
  • Familiarity with additive manufacturing in propulsion components
