Summary
This is a 9-12 month contract role with a local authority, focused on supporting the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Council's financial management systems and finance-related projects.
The postholder will play a crucial role in leading and supporting system upgrades, financial transformation initiatives, and process improvements to ensure the Council maintains robust, efficient, and compliant financial management arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support financial system implementation and upgrade projects.
- Assist with the strategic development of financial management and procurement systems.
- Support the maintenance, configuration, and ongoing development of financial systems.
- Project manage financial system reviews, upgrades, testing, implementation, and post-implementation support.
- Liaise with software providers, consultants, ICT teams, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of projects.
- Develop project plans, monitor progress, and report outcomes to senior management.
Requirements:
Essential Experience Required
Experience working within a Local Government finance environment.
Experience supporting or delivering finance systems projects and upgrades.
Experience using corporate financial management systems.
Essential Qualifications Required
Part-qualified or fully qualified Accountant (AAT or equivalent professional qualification).
Relevant finance, accountancy, or systems experience.
Additional Information
Working hours: 37 hours per week, with consideration for 3 or 4 days.
The role requires a basic DBS.
Hybrid working in Brentwood.
Compensation: £35-£40 umbrella.
Bi-weekly work schedule.
