Summary: The Project Surveyor role involves managing construction and building projects from inception to completion within a Contract Services team in London. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage construction and building projects from feasibility through to completion
  • Provide commercial and contractual advice across assigned projects
  • Prepare specifications, schedules of work, and tender documentation
  • Support and lead procurement processes, including contractor selection
  • Administer building contracts and manage change control and variations
  • Monitor contractor performance, quality, costs, and programme delivery
  • Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, CDM Regulations, and health and safety requirements
  • Carry out site inspections and produce detailed reports
  • Manage budgets, valuations, and final accounts
  • Liaise with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and residents
  • Ensure works comply with landlord and tenant legislation and relevant statutory requirements

Key Skills:

  • Degree-level qualification in Building Surveying or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a Building or Project Surveyor
  • Experience working within a residential or housing environment
  • Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and construction standards
  • Working knowledge of CDM Regulations, planning, party wall matters, and landlord and tenant law
  • Experience administering building contracts and managing contractors
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Membership of RICS, CIOB, or a similar professional body (desirable)
  • Experience working in the public sector or local authority environment (desirable)
