Summary: The Project Procurement Specialist Interim role involves supporting a Public Sector client in Capital Construction procurement. The position requires managing procurement processes, supervising a team, and ensuring compliance with public procurement regulations. The role is expected to deliver on performance and savings targets while negotiating with suppliers and contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement of Services and Works under the direction of the Procurement Manager.
- Invitation to quote/tender and commercial evaluation.
- Negotiations with suppliers and contractors.
- Placement of orders and contracts compliant with Standing Financial Instructions and Procurement Policy.
- Supervise a team of Procurement Officers and Procurement Assistants when required.
- Delivery of annual workplan and achievement of performance and savings targets.
Key Skills:
- Minimum of 3/5 years working in a purchasing/contracting environment, preferably in the public sector.
- Experience in supervising and managing staff.
- Understanding of commercial issues and purchasing techniques.
- Working knowledge of public sector procurement rules.

Working with one of our Public Sector customers who are seeking support for Capital Construction.
Your new role
Responsible for the procurement of Services and Works as required under the direction of the Procurement Manager, to achieve the most economically advantageous result at least risk, and consistent with Public Procurement Regulations, Standing Financial Instructions and the operational requirements of the Constituent Organisations and Clients. This will include but not limited to:
Invitation to quote/tender and commercial evaluation
Negotiations with suppliers and contractors
Placement of orders and contracts compliant with the Customers' Standing Financial Instructions, Procurement Policy and current legislation.
When required, supervise a team of Procurement Officers and Procurement Assistants
Delivery of annual workplan and achievement of performance and savings targets.
What you'll need to succeed
Minimum of 3/5 years working in a purchasing/contracting environment (preferably public sector). You should be experienced at supervising and managing staff. Understanding of commercial issues and purchasing techniques and a working knowledge of the rules governing public sector procurement.
