Summary: The Project Planner role at the European Space Agency involves overseeing the execution of a critical project, focusing on the development and management of an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), work package management, and risk mitigation strategies. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in the space, aerospace, or defence sectors, ensuring compliance with industry standards while coordinating with stakeholders. This position is hybrid and requires a strong background in project planning and management. The role reports directly to the Project Director.

Key Responsibilities:

• Development of Integrated Master Schedule (IMS): Create, maintain, and monitor a comprehensive IMS that outlines all project phases, including milestones, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Work Package Management: Define and organize work packages, ensuring they are manageable, traceable, and linked to project requirements.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies while continuously monitoring risk factors.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Facilitate communication between internal and external stakeholders, ensuring all parties are informed of project status and changes.
• Performance Monitoring: Ensure effective regular project reporting and track project progress against the IMS.
• Resource Allocation: Work closely with the resource management team to ensure adequate allocation of personnel, equipment, and materials.
• Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all project activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

Key Skills:

• Minimum of 7 years' experience in project planning and management within the space, aerospace, or defence industries.
• Proficiency in Project Management/resource tools such as MS Project and MS Project Server.
• Working knowledge of SAP is beneficial.
• Eligibility for Security Clearance and UK National status.
