Summary: Join a major LNG development project as a Project Planner, responsible for scheduling, planning, and progress control across complex project activities. This role is based in Maputo, Mozambique, and involves close collaboration with global project teams. The position requires expertise in planning methodologies and tools, as well as strong communication skills to convey project status and risks. The contract duration is 12 months, full-time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute scheduling, planning, and progress measurement activities for LNG project scopes.
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of planning procedures, tools, and methodologies.
  • Assist in defining and maintaining suitable Work Breakdown Structures for cost control and reporting.
  • Develop, update, and revise project schedules in line with Project Management requirements.
  • Prepare planning S curves, progress updates, and variance analyses.
  • Monitor and analyze schedules, key milestones, forecasts, and deviations against approved baseline schedules.
  • Track, analyze, and report planning and progress KPIs.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to risk assessments.
  • Ensure identified risks are reflected in schedules and forecasts.
  • Support procurement and contract activities from a planning perspective.
  • Validate planning inputs related to invoicing in accordance with contracts.
  • Coordinate, supervise, and control planning activities.
  • Review contractor planning procedures and progress reports.
  • Prepare monthly planning and progress measurement reports.
  • Contribute to weekly, monthly, and management reporting.
  • Provide continuous support to Project Controls Management.

Key Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of planning principles, progress measurement, and forecasting methodologies.
  • Proven background in large scale oil and gas project developments.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, Acumen Fuse, Microsoft Project, Excel, and related planning tools.
  • Strong ability to communicate planning status, risks, and outcomes to diverse stakeholders.
  • Engineering degree or Bachelor degree in Business Management or similar.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in planning or project cost control within major oil and gas projects.
  • Fluent English required; Portuguese and/or French language skills are advantageous.

Shape the Success of a Major LNG Development

Join a large scale international LNG project as a Project Planner and play a key role in driving scheduling, planning, and progress control across complex project activities. Based in Maputo and working closely with global project and package teams.

Role Overview

• Execute scheduling, planning, and progress measurement activities for LNG project scopes, primarily excluding Onshore EPC and Upstream packages while supporting them as required
• Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of planning procedures, tools, and methodologies to ensure effective scheduling and reporting
• Assist in defining and maintaining suitable Work Breakdown Structures aligned with project requirements for cost control, progress tracking, and reporting
• Develop, update, and revise project schedules in line with Project Management requirements, ensuring integration into the overall project schedule under the guidance of the Planning Manager
• Prepare planning S curves, progress updates, and variance analyses, ensuring clear communication to the project team
• Monitor and analyze schedules, key milestones, forecasts, and deviations against approved baseline schedules
• Track, analyze, and report planning and progress KPIs, communicating status and risks to stakeholders
• Participate in project meetings and contribute to risk assessments by gathering and analyzing planning data
• Ensure identified risks are properly reflected in schedules, forecasts, and schedule risk analysis
• Support procurement and contract activities including tendering, bid evaluation, and change management from a planning perspective
• Validate planning inputs related to invoicing in accordance with contracts, project, and company procedures
• Coordinate, supervise, and control planning activities, regularly advising and supporting the Project Management team
• Review contractor planning procedures, schedules, progress methodologies, and progress reports, ensuring alignment with project requirements
• Prepare monthly planning and progress measurement reports supporting project management needs
• Contribute to weekly, monthly, and management reporting, ensuring consistency and accuracy of planning inputs
• Provide continuous support to Project Controls Management across all scheduling and progress reporting matters

Skills and Qualifications

• Planning and Scheduling Expertise: Strong knowledge of planning principles, progress measurement, and forecasting methodologies
• Project Controls Experience: Proven background in large scale oil and gas project developments
• Tools and Systems: Proficiency in Primavera P6, Acumen Fuse, Microsoft Project, Excel, and related planning tools
• Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate planning status, risks, and outcomes to diverse stakeholders

Education and Experience

• Education: Engineering degree or Bachelor degree in Business Management or similar
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in planning or project cost control within major oil and gas projects

Language Requirements

• Fluent English required
• Portuguese and or French language skills are advantageous
