Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Workday/Oracle Delivery: Lead targeted implementation projects, core system upgrades, module rollouts (eg, Workday HCM/FIN, Oracle Cloud ERP/HCM), or specific workstreams within a broader enterprise transformation programme.
- Framework Management: Deliver projects using the Change Delivery Framework, adhering strictly to agreed time, quality, and cost constraints. Ensure non-technical impacts (Business Process Alignment, Change Management, User Training, and Service Integration) are seamlessly incorporated.
- Business Case Development: Partner with Executive Sponsors and HR/Finance leads to build robust business cases, defining clear outcomes, measurable benefits, and tracking metrics for steering committee approval.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Translate complex Workday/Oracle functional capabilities and business objectives into tangible deliverables and benefits for business stakeholders.
- Financial & RAID Control: Manage project budgets (escalating deviations promptly) and proactively control RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies), with a particular focus on data migration risks, third-party integrator management, and system dependencies. Escalating to SteerCo when necessary.
- Resource & Vendor Scheduling: Proactively manage internal project teams, business SMEs, and external implementation partners (SI vendors), monitoring demand and resolving availability bottlenecks.
- Benefits Realisation & Closure: Continuously assess operational outcomes against expected ROI/benefits. Close projects effectively, capturing key lessons for continuous improvement of the ERP/HCM platform ecosystem.
- Mentorship & Capability Building: Coach and support less experienced team members and business peers in ERP/HCM change management and system adoption.
- Compliance: Adhere strictly to all data privacy (GDPR), regulatory, and security processes relevant to enterprise cloud solutions and insurance operations.
Required Skills & Experience
- Workday/Oracle Expertise: Demonstrable track record of delivering IT change within Workday or Oracle Cloud environments (eg, HCM, Financials, Supply Chain, or core business integrations).
- Proven Track Record: Proven experience successfully delivering IT and business transformation projects, managing multiple concurrent workstreams with competing priorities within the Financial Services or Insurance sectors.
- SDLC, Cloud & Governance: Strong expertise in project governance, SaaS release management cycles, integration testing, and the end-to-end Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Planning & Vendor Management: Deep practical experience in detailed project planning, resource scheduling, and managing third-party System Integrators (SIs)/software vendors.
- Business Acumen: Strong knowledge of HR/Finance business process improvement, target operating model (TOM) design, and operational efficiency within regulated environments.
- Communication & Gravitas: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You must possess the intellect and gravitas to influence and gain credibility with senior business stakeholders and C-suite management.
- Adaptability: Ability to tailor your communication style to your audience, pivoting seamlessly between high-level executive summaries and granular functional/technical details.
- Drive: Highly results-driven with the energy and determination to succeed in a fast-paced environment where rapid response and strong leadership are critical.
Working Pattern & Location
The successful candidate will need to be onsite at the office in York 1 day a week, with the option to work remotely for the remainder of the week.
