Summary: Abatec is seeking a freelance Project Manager to oversee a highways scheme for a regional Civil Engineering contractor in Gloucester. The role requires extensive knowledge in formwork, bridge construction, and temporary works, with responsibilities including site management and client communication. The successful candidate will report to the Contracts Manager and ensure project delivery meets budget and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide regular updates to the Contracts Manager on project progress, including budget, programme, and design issues.
- Ensure that health and safety standards and industry regulations are strictly adhered to on site.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing any concerns and attending regular project meetings.
- Prepare, verify, and implement designs on-site in line with the relevant specifications and drawings.
Key Skills:
- Valid CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid certificates.
- Proven experience managing highways and structures projects.
- Strong understanding of construction health and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A relevant HND/HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Salary (Rate): £425 daily

Abatec are currently recruiting for a freelance Project Manager to join our client, a regional Civil Engineering contractor based in Gloucester on a highways scheme.
The successful individual will be site-based overseeing the structures package and requires extensive knowledge and experience in formwork, bridge construction and temporary works.
As a Project Manager, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of the civil engineering project. Reporting into the Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of site activities, ensuring that projects are completed to schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards.
As a Project Manager you will:
