Summary: The Strategy Project Manager role at Scottish Power Energy Networks involves overseeing a portfolio of strategic projects within the Architecture & Strategy Team. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure alignment with the digital roadmap and effective implementation of IT solutions. This is a 12-month initial contract with hybrid working arrangements based in Glasgow. The role is classified as inside IR35, with options for umbrella and PAYE.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with business leads, IT leads, and system architects to prioritise projects on the SPEN digital roadmap.
- Ensure strategic requirements are reflected in design and procurement of new IT solutions.
- Manage a portfolio view of all projects within a defined area of the overall strategy & architecture roadmap.
- Identify, plan, and manage interdependencies between workstreams and other Transformation projects.
- Manage cross-programme risks and implement mitigating actions.
- Coach, mentor, and support members of the strategy team and relevant delivery leads.
- Maintain a detailed programme plan and provide suitable reporting to stakeholders.
- Support the development of strategic programmes and projects within the Business Transformation Directorate.
- Monitor and report on programme performance, progress, and outcomes.
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
- Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for effective communication and management.
- Organise and run workshops to identify and capture business requirements.
- Review solution options with IT leads and systems architects.
- Progress projects on the strategic roadmap through internal governance and approval forums.
- Input progress of strategic projects into regular regulatory requirements.
Key Skills:
- Experience in managing digital/IT transformation projects.
- Extensive experience of IT systems, preferably in a utility environment.
- Ability to coordinate a wide range of business requirements into a technology plan.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications and project management tools.
- Ability to estimate and plan programme activities and recognise constraints and priorities.
- Ability to organise and obtain business demand using influencing and negotiating skills.
- Recognise and manage expectations of stakeholder groups.
- Devise and present various options with pros and cons for decision-making.
