Summary: The Solar Farm Project Manager is tasked with overseeing the entire lifecycle of solar farm projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope. This role requires effective coordination with various stakeholders, management of resources, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. The position demands strong leadership and communication skills to navigate project complexities and ensure successful execution. The role is primarily on-site with some office work and travel to project locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to evaluate project viability.
  • Obtain necessary permits and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and suppliers for project design and procurement.
  • Lead and oversee construction activities, ensuring adherence to project schedules and quality standards.
  • Monitor and manage project risks, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Ensure all safety protocols and environmental regulations are strictly followed.
  • Conduct site inspections to track progress and resolve on-site challenges.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, investors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including engineers, finance, and operations, to ensure seamless execution.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to stakeholders through regular reporting.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency.
  • Oversee procurement processes, ensuring timely delivery of equipment and materials.
  • Optimize resource allocation, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Conduct final inspections, testing, and commissioning of the solar farm.
  • Ensure proper documentation, including as-built drawings and compliance reports.
  • Oversee the transition of the project to operations and maintenance teams.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to improve future project execution.

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, renewable energy, construction management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the renewable energy or construction sector.
  • Strong knowledge of solar energy systems, permitting processes, and industry regulations.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar software.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) regulations and best practices.
  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification is a plus.
