Summary: The role is for a temporary Project Manager to oversee a housing refurbishment programme for the Ministry of Defence (MOD) properties in the Edinburgh and Fife region. The position requires ensuring that external contractors deliver quality work on time while maintaining compliance with project specifications and health and safety regulations. The contract is initially for 3-6 months, with the possibility of extension. The role involves significant site visits and collaboration with various stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and inspect refurbishment works across MOD housing sites, eg. full internal strip out and re-build.
- Ensure all works meet required standards, specifications, and health & safety regulations.
- Ensure milestones are met.
- Carry out detailed snagging inspections and report findings.
- Briefing contractors.
- Liaise with contractors, project managers, and stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and progress.
Key Skills:
- Strong background in a building trade, eg joinery or bricklaying, with proven Social Housing Maintenance experience.
- Delivering a programme of housing maintenance via contractors.
- Excellent eye for detail and ability to identify defects.
- Knowledge of building regulations and quality standards.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple sites.
- SMSTS is essential.

We are seeking an experienced housing refurbishment individual to oversee a housing refurbishment programme on Ministry of Defence (MOD) properties. This role is critical to ensuring high-quality workmanship and compliance with project specifications.
