Summary: The Senior Infrastructure Project Manager will lead critical infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing the security framework of an investment bank, focusing on remote access upgrades and firewall enhancements. This role is integral to a broader cyber improvement program and requires strong project management skills and stakeholder communication. The position demands a hybrid working arrangement with three days a week in the London office. The role is classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, execution, and closure of infrastructure projects.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure project goals are met.
- Manage upgrades to VPN and Citrix systems to enhance remote access capabilities.
- Oversee the implementation of secure production access using Guacamole server.
- Ensure seamless integration and minimal disruption to end-users.
- Implement best practices for security and ensure robust measures are in place to protect sensitive data.
- Coordinate with IT and security teams to align with overall security policies.
- Plan and execute Firewall upgrades to enhance network security.
- Ensure compatibility with existing infrastructure and minimal downtime during upgrades.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders, including senior management (C-level).
- Provide succinct updates and ensure clear, concise communication.
- Facilitate regular project meetings and provide updates to senior management.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, including technical, operational, and security risks.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to ensure project success.
- Ensure all project activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Prepare documentation and reports for audit and compliance purposes.
- Track project issues closely and report on them regularly.
- Maintain detailed records of issues and their resolutions.
- Ensure timely escalation of critical issues to senior management.
Key Skills:
- PMP or PRINCE2 certification is highly desirable.
- Extensive experience in managing IT infrastructure projects, particularly in the financial services sector.
- Strong understanding of VPN, Citrix, and Firewall technologies.
- Excellent project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and resource management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and provide succinct updates to senior management.
- Experience with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and regulatory requirements in the financial industry.
- Ability to work in ambiguity and remain calm under pressure.
- Technical proficiency in infrastructure systems and security protocols.
