Summary: The Project Manager - Matter Onboarding role at a leading international law firm involves overseeing a strategic transformation programme to enhance the firm's Matter Onboarding processes. This is a hybrid role based in London, offering a competitive salary and a 12-month contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of Matter Onboarding projects.
  • Manage initiatives to improve the client and matter intake process.
  • Work closely with Legal, Risk, Compliance, Finance and Technology teams to gather requirements and deliver business change.
  • Drive process improvements across:
    • Conflicts Management
    • Client & Matter Opening
    • Anti-Money Laundering (AML)
    • Know Your Customer (KYC)
    • Client Due Diligence (CDD)
    • Sanctions Screening
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions.
  • Manage project plans, RAID logs, governance, reporting and communications.
  • Coordinate testing, implementation and business readiness activities.
  • Support change management and user adoption across the programme.

Key Skills:

  • Proven Project Management experience within a law firm or legal services environment.
  • Strong experience delivering Matter Onboarding or Business Acceptance projects.
  • Excellent understanding of:
    • Conflicts Management
    • AML
    • KYC
    • Client Due Diligence (CDD)
    • Client & Matter Opening
    • Sanctions Screening
  • Experience working with Legal, Risk, Compliance, Finance and Technology stakeholders.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a leading international law firm, delivering a strategic Matter Onboarding transformation programme.

This is a business-critical role focused on enhancing the firm's Matter Onboarding processes, ensuring a seamless, compliant and efficient client and matter intake experience. Working closely with Legal, Risk, Compliance, Finance and Technology teams, you'll lead projects that improve operational processes, strengthen governance and support regulatory compliance.

The Role

You'll take ownership of the delivery of Matter Onboarding initiatives, managing projects from inception through to implementation. The role requires someone with a strong understanding of the legal matter intake life cycle and the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders across both business and technology functions.
