Summary: The role of Project Manager - Defence involves overseeing a large-scale Defence programme, focusing on the transition of services into a live environment while adhering to ITIL Service Management principles. The successful candidate will manage the project lifecycle, engage with stakeholders, and ensure compliance with Defence standards. This position requires a strong understanding of ITIL and experience in a Defence or regulated environment. The role is based in Corsham, with a hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end project lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery of workstreams in line with programme objectives.
  • Lead service transition activities and ensure Operational Acceptance Criteria (OAC) is achieved.
  • Engage and coordinate with key stakeholders, including Service Architects, PMs, suppliers, the Service Centre, and the Service Transition Board (STB).
  • Ensure adherence to the Service Management Framework (SMF) and relevant ITIL processes (Change, Release, Incident, Problem, Configuration, etc).
  • Identify, manage and mitigate project risks and issues, maintaining control over scope, quality, and resources.
  • Prepare and deliver regular progress reports, project documentation, and governance artefacts.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience managing complex IT or software projects within a Defence or highly regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on application of ITIL (preferably v4) within live service or service transition projects.
  • Experience working with MOD stakeholders or similar government organisations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Comfortable operating in a hybrid environment, attending Corsham site 2-3 days per week.

Location: Corsham (2-3 days per week on-site, remainder remote)
Contract Length: 12 months
Rate: £550-£600 per day (Inside IR35)
Clearance Required: Active SC Clearance must be in place prior to starting
