Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead small to medium projects or workstreams within a broader programme/portfolio.
  • Deliver projects using the Change Delivery Framework, adhering to agreed time, quality, and cost constraints.
  • Partner with Project Sponsors to build robust business cases, defining clear outcomes, measurable benefits, and tracking metrics for approval.
  • Transform sponsor and business objectives into tangible deliverables and benefits.
  • Manage project budgets and proactively control RAID (Risks, Issues, Actions, and Decisions).
  • Proactively manage internal resources and external vendors, monitoring demand and resolving availability issues.
  • Continuously assess outcomes against expected benefits and close projects effectively.
  • Coach and support less experienced team members and business peers in change management and project delivery.
  • Adhere strictly to all data and security processes.

Key Skills:

  • Demonstrable experience successfully delivering IT change and managing multiple concurrent projects.

My client requires a Project Manager who will take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of small and medium projects, changes, and key workstreams within larger enterprise initiatives.

You will manage the entire project life cycle-from Vision to Outcome Realisation-stepping in to drive successful delivery, whether you are launching a greenfield project or rescuing an inflight change.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Delivery: Lead small to medium projects or workstreams within a broader programme/portfolio.

  • Framework Management: Deliver projects using the Change Delivery Framework, adhering to agreed time, quality, and cost constraints. Ensure non-technical impacts (Business Change, Training, Service Integration) are seamlessly incorporated.

  • Business Case Development: Partner with Project Sponsors to build robust business cases, defining clear outcomes, measurable benefits, and tracking metrics for approval.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Transform sponsor and business objectives into tangible deliverables and benefits.

  • Financial & Risk Control: Manage project budgets (escalating deviations promptly) and proactively control RAID (Risks, Issues, Actions, and Decisions), escalating to SteerCo when necessary.

  • Resource Scheduling: Proactively manage internal resources and external vendors, monitoring demand and resolving availability issues.

  • Benefits Realisation & Closure: Continuously assess outcomes against expected benefits. Close projects effectively, capturing key lessons for continuous improvement.

  • Mentorship: Coach and support less experienced team members and business peers in change management and project delivery.

  • Compliance: Adhere strictly to all data and security processes.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrable experience successfully delivering IT change and managing multiple concurrent projects of differing scales with competing priorities.

  • SDLC & Governance: Strong expertise in project governance, control, and the end-to-end Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

  • Planning Expertise: Deep practical experience in project planning and resource scheduling.

  • Business Acumen: Strong knowledge of business process improvement and operational efficiency, alongside an awareness of commercial management processes.

  • Communication & Gravitas: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You must possess the intellect and gravitas to influence and gain credibility with Hiscox business stakeholders and management.

  • Adaptability: Ability to tailor your communication style to your audience, pivoting seamlessly between high-level executive summaries and granular detail.

  • Drive: Highly results-driven with the energy and determination to succeed in a fast-paced environment where rapid response and strong leadership are critical.

The successful candidate will need to be onsite at the office in York 1 day a week but can work remote at all other times.
