Summary: The Project Manager will oversee the groundworks package for a £9m residential development in North Yorkshire, ensuring effective coordination of daily operations and adherence to health and safety standards. This long-term freelance role requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in managing substantial groundworks projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for liaising with stakeholders, managing resources, and maintaining project documentation. Strong negotiation and communication skills are essential for fostering positive client relationships and ensuring project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site safety inductions.
- Liaise with the principal contractor and coordinate with external stakeholders.
- Conduct and attend routine site meetings.
- Report and work closely with the Visiting Contracts Manager.
- Handle any issues or conflicts that arise throughout the project.
- Comply with health and safety regulations throughout all work operations.
- Oversee package costs, maintaining alignment with the established budget.
- Identify possible threats to the works and implement effective strategies to address them.
- Coordinate and manage daily site activities, overseeing workers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Manage resources such as materials, equipment, and labor efficiently.
- Serve as the principal contact between the project team, clients, and stakeholders, delivering regular updates on project progress.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all project components, including contracts, permits, change orders, and communications.
- Enhance and maintain positive client relationships by resolving concerns and ensuring satisfaction with project developments.
Key Skills:
- SMSTS and CSCS Card.
- Proven history of successfully delivering groundworks packages in excess of £2m.
- At least 5 years of experience in a Project Manager position or similar.
- Superb negotiation abilities.
- Competent IT/software skills.
- Extensive health and safety knowledge.
- Effective communication skills, verbal and written.
- Ability to organise and manage project schedules.
- Solid understanding of relevant regulations and standards.
- Proven ability to lead, support, and direct a team effectively.
- In-depth understanding of construction methods, materials, and building processes.
- Exceptional focus on detail to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
