Summary: The Project Manager role involves overseeing the delivery of planned works within the United Utilities region as part of the AMP8 investment cycle. The position requires experience in both the design and delivery of water projects, managing either a major project or a portfolio of smaller projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, line manage and develop site teams.
- Provide whole-life oversight and accountability for successful project completion through design, procurement, assembly, commissioning and handover.
- Ensure supply chain partners remain compliant with the framework management plan.
- Lead and embed a strong safety culture, targeting Zero LTI and Zero RIDDOR incidents.
- Maintain a strong commercial focus, challenging scope and selecting efficient delivery strategies.
- Engage stakeholders across the Enterprise at both strategic and operational levels, ensuring alignment on project impacts.
- Ensure consistent, reliable reporting of project/service performance.
- Identify key project and programme risks early and drive mitigation actions.
Key Skills:
- Previous experience managing multidisciplinary projects including Civils and MEICA (preferably within the water sector).
- Strong track record delivering project programmes.
- Knowledge and understanding of construction contract law and standard forms of contract (via experience and formal training).
- Ability to build trusted relationships with key client stakeholders, internal teams, supply chain and framework partners.
- Strong computer competence: MS Word, Excel, document control systems, Primavera.
- Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Relevant CSCS card.
