Summary: Astute’s Renewables Team is seeking a Project Manager for a £20m Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Tilbury. This contract role offers a competitive day rate and requires expertise in managing large-scale energy projects. The position is outside of IR35 and is set to run until May 2026, with the possibility of further projects. Immediate availability is preferred for this leadership role in the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing the BESS Tilbury project, overseeing all aspects of delivery for the Electrical Main Contractor.
- Managing project finances and ensuring budgets are controlled and monitored.
- Leading and coordinating project teams, including subcontractors and site staff.
- Developing, maintaining, and delivering project programmes.
- Ensuring all work is delivered safely and in compliance with H&S standards.
- NEC4 contract management experience is essential.
- Strong background in programme delivery and financial control.
- Experience in STOR / Peaking Plant projects is advantageous.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all project stakeholders.
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale projects on time and budget.

Astute’s Renewables Team is partnered with a leading Energy Main Contractor to recruit a Project Manager to lead a £20m BESS project at Tilbury.
This role is a contract position and comes with a day rate from £500.00 to £600.00 outside of IR35.
