Summary: The M&A Project Manager will oversee the end-to-end delivery of high-profile mergers and acquisitions projects, ensuring effective management of timelines, stakeholders, and integration planning. This role demands a structured project leader with hands-on experience in complex M&A environments. The position is based in London with a hybrid working arrangement, requiring on-site presence twice a month. The role is classified as outside IR35, indicating a flexible contracting arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the project management of M&A transactions from initiation through to post-deal integration
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and risk registers
  • Act as the central point of contact for internal workstreams (finance, legal, HR, IT, operations) and external advisors
  • Ensure deliverables are tracked, aligned, and completed on time and within scope
  • Facilitate regular steering group meetings, status updates, and executive reporting
  • Drive due diligence coordination, ensuring risks and findings are escalated and addressed appropriately
  • Support post-deal integration planning and execution, collaborating with functional leads to manage Day 1 readiness and long-term integration milestones
  • Identify and mitigate risks/issues and proactively drive solutions across workstreams

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience managing M&A projects, ideally within complex corporate or mid-market environments
  • Strong understanding of the M&A lifecycle including due diligence, transaction execution, and post-deal integration
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including with C-suite and external advisors
  • Strong project governance, documentation, and reporting skills
  • Familiarity with project tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, RAID logs)
  • Experience in regulated industries or multi-entity environments a plus
