Summary: The role of Project Manager involves overseeing assigned projects for a defence manufacturer in Poole, focusing on deliverables within contract terms. The position requires collaboration with the Business Development and Bids team, managing contracts, and ensuring adherence to deadlines and budgets. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in project management within a technical sector, particularly in defence. Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Business Development and Bids team in planning phases for new opportunities
- Creating work breakdown structures, project and resource plans, risk identification and mitigation plans
- Managing new and existing contracts, adhering to contractual obligations, deadlines and budgeted costs
- Delivering payment milestones within specified tolerances of time, cost, quality, scope, risk and benefits
- Undertaking regular formal documented reviews of contracts reporting and reporting contract progress
- Creating standardised documentation and reporting templates for use across all projects/major contracts within the Business Unit
Key Skills:
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a relevant Project Management role within a technical sector
- Project Management qualification, e.g., Prince 2, APM
- Experience within the Defence industry delivering technical engineering solutions
- Full project lifecycle experience
- Lean Six Sigma yellow or green belt is highly desirable
- Engineering experience within the civil or military aviation industry would be desirable
