Summary: The role of Project Manager at Devonport Dockyard involves overseeing various upgrade projects within the UK defence industry. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver and manage project plans from inception through design development and construction.
- Ensure quality systems are managed in line with service excellence.
- Assist with scoping work packages for design drawings.
- Support procurement of packages and review subcontractor appointments.
- Provide support to construction managers to meet delivery programmes.
- Liaise with Building PM's / CM's regarding delivery requirements.
- Input and review Contractor Reporting (Dashboard).
- Attend regular Progress Meetings and monitor Contractor Design and Deliverables.
- Review and monitor Key Quality Sign Offs and incoming changes.
Key Skills:
- Experience in project management within the UK defence industry.
- Background in Civil or MEP Engineering.
- Ability to manage project plans and deliverables effectively.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Project Managers Devonport Dockyard £350/day - £550/day Ltd (depending on experience and role engaged for) We are partnered with one of the Framework Consultants delivering upgrade projects at Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth. Our client is looking to take on 3 new freelance hires with experience in the UK defence industry to look after packages of work in one of the basin areas. Currently we need: Programme Manager (Associate Director Level) Senior Project Manager (Mechanical Handling & Moorings) Assistant Project Manager (Cranes and Moorings) You will ensure quality systems are suitably managed in line with service excellence. You will deliver and manage project plans from project inception/brief, through design development and planning, contractor procurement and construction phase in accordance with the overall delivery program and agreed project milestones. You will manage tasks and associated deliverables in support of senior project managers and other leaders, alongside the wider project and client teams, to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of the project. Review of design and engagement through the design process, assisting the design team where appropriate. Assist with scoping work packages for design drawings in line with the other package managers. Assist with procurement of packages, reviewing and appointing subcontractors alongside the commercial team. Providing support to construction managers to ensure trade work packages are attaining the agreed delivery programme. Liaising with Building PM's / CM's as to their requirements to attain delivery programme. Input and review the Contractor Reporting (Dashboard). Attend regular Progress Meetings. Monitor the Contractor Design, Programme and Deliverables. Review and Monitor Key Quality Sign Offs. Review and monitor incoming changes and advise on scope change and programme.
