Summary: The Business Change Project Manager will lead strategic and operational change projects within the legal sector, focusing on process improvements and policy implementation. This role is essential for supporting legal teams through business transformation and ensuring successful adoption of changes across the firm. The position requires collaboration with senior legal stakeholders to identify needs and define project outcomes. The contract is full-time and outside IR35, with a duration of 3 to 6 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage, and deliver non-IT business change projects within a legal services context.
  • Collaborate with senior legal stakeholders (e.g., General Counsel, Partners, Legal Ops) to identify change needs and define project outcomes.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation including business cases, timelines, risk registers, and status reports.
  • Conduct change impact assessments across legal functions and design tailored change interventions.
  • Develop and execute communication and engagement strategies suitable for legal audiences.
  • Ensure effective integration of new processes, policies, and working practices within legal teams.
  • Monitor and track progress against project milestones and ensure timely delivery of outcomes.
  • Facilitate training, workshops, and feedback sessions to support change adoption.
  • Track benefits realisation and handover to operational leads for ongoing sustainability.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in delivering business change or transformation projects, ideally within legal, professional services, or regulated sectors.
  • Strong understanding of the legal environment, including law firm operations or in-house legal department functions.
  • Experience working with legal stakeholders such as Partners, General Counsel, or Legal Operations professionals.
  • Solid grasp of change management principles and project governance (e.g., ADKAR, Prosci, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of legal compliance, risk, policy, or regulatory frameworks is a plus.
  • Familiarity with legal process improvement and efficiency initiatives (e.g., matter management, billing, knowledge management).
  • Project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM, PMP) or equivalent experience.
