Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple high complexity civil engineering projects.
  • Oversee projects with budgets of £2m plus throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure successful delivery of Design & Build Projects.
  • Implement risk management strategies.
  • Maintain excellent commercial awareness and profitability of works.
  • Utilize business applications and software effectively.
  • Travel throughout the region as required.

Key Skills:

  • 10 years or more experience in project management.
  • Degree (or equivalent) in a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in managing high complexity projects.
  • Chartered membership of a professional body (not essential).
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles.
  • Excellent commercial awareness.
  • Proficient in business applications/software.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to travel.

Role overview: My client is a Leading, Civil Engineering Contractor. Due to planned growth and an influx of work in The Southwest, they are looking to appoint, on a permanent or long-term contract basis, a Project Manager with a solid background in Civil Engineering Projects. Initially the successful candidate will be deployed on a project in the Marchwood area just west of Southampton which comprises heavy civils works and has a long term programme.

Project Manager’s experience and competence: Proven experience of managing multiple high complexity projects within the relevant discipline. 10 years or more experience preferred. Experience of managing projects £2m plus. Proven experience of managing multiple high complexity Design & Build Projects throughout the project lifecycle. Degree (or equivalent) in a related discipline (essential). Chartered membership of appropriate professional body (not essential). Knowledge of all aspects of successful project management. Excellent commercial awareness and proven experience of delivering profitable works. Experience of risk and risk management. Proficient in the use of personal computer and business applications/software etc. Valid driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the region. Can do attitude.
