Summary: The role is for an experienced Control Systems Engineer at a green energy engineering company in Manchester, focusing on the design and development of control systems for renewable energy projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and modify control systems for green energy and renewable projects
- PLC programming and configuration for automated energy systems
- Development of Functional Design Specifications (FDS), control philosophies, I/O lists, and control narratives
- HMI/SCADA development and integration
- Support system testing, FATs, SATs, and commissioning activities
- Work closely with electrical design engineers, project managers, and site/commissioning teams
- Ensure systems comply with relevant UK and international standards, cybersecurity, and safety requirements
- Provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Control Systems Engineer within renewable energy, green energy, or energy-adjacent industries
- Strong PLC programming experience (Siemens, Rockwell/Allen Bradley, Beckhoff, Schneider)
- Experience with SCADA/HMI systems
- Strong understanding of industrial automation and control architectures
- Ability to work autonomously in a contract environment
- Comfortable working on a hybrid basis with site and office presence as required
