Summary: CMC is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a high-profile re-industrialisation project in the aerospace sector. The role involves driving the industrialisation of a complex product, managing teams, suppliers, and ensuring adherence to aerospace-quality standards. The position is full-time on-site in Luton for an 18-month contract, starting ideally on January 5th. The Project Manager will be responsible for delivering the project on time and within budget while maintaining high-quality outputs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of the re-industrialisation project, including planning, scheduling, and reporting.
- Coordinate and manage internal engineering, manufacturing, and process teams, working with up to 15 individuals.
- Manage external suppliers, including equipment procurement, commissioning, and construction contracts.
- Oversee factory/facility move and ensure production continuity during transition.
- Ensure all processes and outputs meet high-quality aerospace standards (AS9100/NADCAP).
- Develop and maintain project documentation, schedules, risk registers, and progress reports.
- Manage project budgets, internal and external financials, and capital expenditures.
- Prepare updates for the fortnightly Steering Committee and senior stakeholders.
- Identify risks and drive solutions, making key decisions in collaboration with senior management.
Key Skills:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management within industrialisation, re-industrialisation, or manufacturing transitions.
- Proven experience in aerospace or high-complexity manufacturing environments.
- Experience with equipment acquisition, commissioning, and automation projects.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and multiple external suppliers.
- Strong stakeholder management and reporting skills; confident dealing with senior leadership.
- Experience managing budgets and capital expenditure.
- Ability to work independently, make decisions, and navigate internal politics.
- Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
