Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end project delivery across integrated packages including rail, water, and structural works
- Develop and manage detailed project programmes, ensuring alignment with overall delivery milestones
- Oversee design coordination, ensuring buildability, efficiency, and compliance with technical standards
- Manage project budgets, cost control, and commercial reporting in collaboration with commercial teams
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards at all stages
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and opportunities
- Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, and consultants across multiple disciplines
- Act as the primary interface with key stakeholders including clients, local authorities, and regulatory bodies
- Lead project meetings, reporting progress, issues, and performance against KPIs
- Drive a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across the delivery team
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience as a Project Manager delivering major infrastructure or civil engineering schemes
- Strong technical background across at least one of the following disciplines: Rail, Water, Structures (multi-sector experience highly advantageous)
- Demonstrable experience managing complex, high-risk projects within constrained urban environments (London experience preferred)
- Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage multiple stakeholders simultaneously
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, contracts, and programme delivery
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline (Chartered status desirable)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Project Manager to support the delivery of a major, high-value infrastructure programme in London. This flagship scheme involves complex, multi-disciplinary works spanning Rail, Water, and Structural engineering, requiring a strong, delivery-focused professional with proven experience operating in similarly demanding environments.
This is a long-term contract opportunity (3 years), offering continuity of work on a landmark project with significant technical and logistical challenges.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of key project packages. You will operate at the centre of a multi-disciplinary team, managing interfaces across rail systems, water infrastructure, and structural elements while ensuring compliance with strict safety, regulatory, and client requirements.
You will be expected to drive programme performance, manage risks proactively, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across all levels of the project.
