Project Manager

Posted 1 day ago by djr

We're looking for a hands-on Contract Project Manager to lead an operational recovery project, bringing together physical site delivery, contractors and the people affected by business disruption.

You'll build a clear recovery plan and turn it into practical progress. Alongside premises and equipment reinstatement, you'll work closely with site teams, manage supplier relationships and help people adapt to temporary arrangements and changes to their working environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Owning the recovery plan, with clear milestones, responsibilities and dependencies.
  • Coordinating facilities, premises and equipment work with contractors, suppliers and internal specialists.
  • Building trusted relationships with site teams and subcontractors, resolving issues and managing escalations.
  • Coordinating the people workstream, including communications, resourcing and changes to working arrangements.
  • Supporting temporary operations and a phased return to stable service.
  • Working with insurers and loss adjusters to keep documentation, decisions and actions moving.
  • Managing budgets, risks and issues, with clear reporting and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Completing handover into business-as-usual operations and capturing lessons for future continuity planning.

What we're looking for

  • Proven ownership of physical projects such as site relocations, refurbishments, facilities mobilisation or reinstatement.
  • Experience managing contractors, suppliers, budgets and competing delivery priorities.
  • Strong people and change management skills, with examples of bringing operational teams through disruption.
  • The confidence to handle difficult conversations, resolve disagreements and escalate issues with clear options.
  • A practical understanding of maintaining services during physical works or operational transitions.
  • A calm, organised approach and clear communication with frontline teams and senior stakeholders.

Previous site recovery or insurance claims experience would be useful, but is not essential. You'll coordinate technical and insurance specialists while owning the overall project.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a visible recovery programme, helping restore operational capacity and supporting the people who make it work.
