Summary: The Project Manager role focuses on overseeing water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Yorkshire, managing them from initial design through to construction and handover. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead water and/or wastewater infrastructure projects from inception through construction
  • Take accountability for programme, budget control, risk management, and change processes
  • Coordinate internal teams, designers, contractors, and specialist suppliers
  • Oversee site operations and ensure safe, efficient project delivery
  • Drive compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
  • Maintain accurate reporting including progress tracking, forecasting, and risk registers
  • Manage commercial performance including variations and cost control
  • Proactively resolve technical, operational, and delivery challenges
  • Ensure adherence to framework governance and industry regulations

Key Skills:

  • Demonstrable experience delivering water, utilities, or civil engineering infrastructure projects
  • Background in network-based works (pipelines, mains, or buried infrastructure desirable)
  • Experience operating within regulated utility or framework environments
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies and live site operations
  • Proven track record managing health & safety on complex infrastructure projects
  • Commercial awareness with experience managing costs and change
  • Familiarity with NEC forms of contract advantageous
  • Self-motivated, delivery-driven, and comfortable working across both site and office environments

Site-Based Role – Yorkshire

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our client to support the delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure schemes under a long-term regional utility framework in the North of England. This role involves managing network-based projects from early definition and design coordination through to construction and handover. Schemes will typically include pipeline renewals, network upgrades, and works delivered within live operational environments. This is a delivery-focused, hands-on role suited to a Project Manager with strong experience in utility or civil infrastructure projects who is comfortable taking full ownership of programme, commercial performance, risk, and site safety.
